FC Dallas 96 Boys Premier Semi Finalist in Region 3 Tournament
FC Dallas 96 Boys Premier team had a very successful Regional tournament. They played with a distinct style of play that is different than most youth soccer teams in this Region. The first victory of the tournament was a comfortable 3-0 win over the Tennessee State Champion. The second win of the tournament came in thrilling fashion. After conceding an own goal early in the game, FC Dallas dominated every phase of the game as goals would eventually come with quality movements. FC Dallas scored 2 goals in the second half to defeat the Georgia State Champion. With the victory FC Dallas had clinched a birth in the quarters and the third match of the tournament didn’t need a result. The boys played with purpose and desire, but fell to the North Texas State Champion by a score of 2-0. In the fourth game of the tournament FC Dallas played with a renewed commitment. Their precise passing and attention to detail created many opportunities. The much deserved goal came in double overtime off a sharp attacking move that was met with sheer determination. The final game of the Region 3 US Youth Championships was against the North Carolina State Champion. FC Dallas played at their highest level of the week as the boys continued to push the speed of play to new levels. They met a very organized, and disciplined defense and were unable to finish an opportunity after many heartbreaking attempts. The final score was 1-0, but the 96 FC Dallas Boys Premier team left it all on the field. Forward Tanner Garner led the tournament in scoring with four goals through five games. The champion of Region 3 was the State Champion from South Texas, a team that the 96 FCD Boys Premier team had defeated by a score of 4-2 to claim the Premier League Championship in February. The team played with a commitment and style of play that could only be known as the FCD Way!

With the Region 3 Semi-Final appearance the 96 FC Dallas Boys Premier team became one of only 16 teams in the country to advance as far.
