The El Paso alliance marks the first Tier 1 affiliation for the club under the framework of Major League Soccers player development guidelines. Players from Tier 1 affiliates qualify as Home Grown players for the parent MLS Club.

Our goal is to be the best youth development system in Major League Soccer and North America, said club President and CEO, Doug Quinn. The principal function of our affiliate program is to further support that goal, and to identify and develop the most talented athletes from not only within the DFW Metroplex, but also across the entire southwest region. El Paso has a wealth of talented soccer players and Texas Fire has a long and distinguished tradition of producing capable athletes. We are confident that this partnership will help strengthen both of our programs and we are proud to welcome them into our FC Dallas family.

The 10-year old El Paso club currently includes 22 teams with more than 400 players thanks in part to its recent merger with Mexicas Soccer Club. The club and its dedicated staff in El Paso have produced many notable players, including 2011 first round MLS draft pick Omar Salgado (Vancouver), FCD U18 Academy Captain and U.S. Youth National Team veteran Michael Ambrose. Recently five youth athletes from the El Paso program joined the development program in Frisco for the 2011-12 Academy season: Alonso Gallegos (U18), Aaron Guillen (U18), Cesar Murillo (U15), James Olmos (U15), and Jose Livano Salas (U15).

The opportunities and exposure that FC Dallas will provide for the city of El Paso and the soccer community are going to be extraordinary said FC Dallas El Paso Director of Coaching Ralph Sifuentes. We welcome FC Dallas to El Paso with open arms and with great pride. Our alliance with FC Dallas will allow us to provide an even higher level of coaching and development of our players for their potential collegiate, professional, and national team careers. We will work diligently to properly implement the FCD Way.

Through its affiliate program FC Dallas is sharing its trademark FCD Way age-specific curriculum with existing youth clubs that model the style of soccer and philosophies that have made the FCD Way so successful.

FC Dallas affiliate clubs follow the FCD Way curriculum and wear FC Dallas uniforms and training gear. The clubs will also have access to almost all of the same benefits as members of the existing youth club based at Pizza Hut Park, including School of Excellence camps and college combines, the FCD college preparation program, affiliate coaches continuing education, discounted admission to FC Dallas MLS games and support to help strengthen the clubs competitive level. Players on FC Dallas affiliate teams will be able to train or play with the FC Dallas Academy, Pre-Academy, Elite Clubs National League and Womens Premier Soccer League teams.

The affiliation is centered around the players, said Academy Director Oscar Pareja. It is about providing them with the best soccer environment and reaching their optimal potential. Their players are talented, and we are happy to have them as members of our program. This is something we have been working on for over a year now and it is great that the result offers such a promising future for player development.
FC Dallas Pre Academy teams win big in preseason Labor Day friendlies http://www.fcdallasyouth.com/Blog.aspxFC-Dallas-Pre-Academy-teams-win-big-in-preseason-L_BG3031.aspx Wed, 7 Sep 2011 16:26:00 GMT 4f281874-bf15-4fb5-b28e-02253bf4dc85 FC Dallas Youth News Blog

Several MLS Youth Development systems were on display over the weekend as the FC Dallas Pre Academy continues to prepare for its upcoming inaugural season. The FC Dallas 99 Premier Boys, the 98 Pre Academy and the 97 Pre Academy traveled to Chicago, Illinois over Labor Day weekend to play a series of friendly matches against their counterparts from the host Chicago Fire, as well as Sporting Kansas City and the Columbus Crew.

Senior Director of FC Dallas Youth Chris Hayden said the chance to play against other MLS sides is one that needs to be taken advantage of whenever possible.

We will continue to look for opportunities to play against our MLS rivals as often as possible, said Hayden. It is not only a measuring stick for our program but it also helps our players understand the path that we are trying to create for them to play someday for our first team.

The games were played over three days on the training fields at Toyota Park, last Friday through Sunday. On Friday, after a long, uneventful bus ride, all three FC Dallas teams got off on the right foot with victories in all three games against the Chicago Fire. The FC Dallas 99 Premier team won 2-0, the 98 Pre Academy won 1-0, and the 97 Pre Academy pulled off a convincing 4-0 victory on day one.

On Saturday, FC Dallas continued its run of good play as games were played at a fast pace, with the 99 Premier team winning by a 2-1 margin over a very talented 00 Chicago Fire team, the 98 Pre Academy beating Sporting KC 5-1, and the 97 Pre Academy winning 3-1 against a strong SKC group.

In Sundays action, the FC Dallas 99 Premier team pummeled the Columbus Crew 7-1 in the opening match and the FC Dallas 98 Pre Academy followed that up with a 2-0 win over Columbus. In the final match of the weekend, the 97 Pre Academy team won a tight match versus the Crew 97s by a 1-0 margin. FC Dallas won all nine games played over the holiday weekend, outscoring all opponents by a 27-4 margin.

The weekend was a success for our program on many levels said Hayden. Not only were we able to play against MLS opponents whose systems attract many of their markets best players, but we had success on the field and our teams played attractive soccer.

We will take a lot of positives from this trip as we are preparing for our upcoming Pre Academy season and we now have a better understanding of our strengths and weaknesses and can identify some short and long term areas for improvement.
Congratulations to the 96 Boys Premier team on placing third in the nation at the USYS National Championships http://www.fcdallasyouth.com/Blog.aspxCongratulations-to-the-96-Boys-Premier-team-on-pla_BG3030.aspx Thu, 11 Aug 2011 09:57:00 GMT dad73372-bbd3-41fd-ac86-454164574e3a FC Dallas Youth News Blog

This week FC Dallas 96 Boys Premier team player Antonio Aguilar was honored by US Youth Soccer when he was named to the Under-15 Boys National Championships Best 11. A Panthers midfielder got Dallas goalkeeper Magen Ross to come far enough off her goal line to get a shot past her, but the ball rolled along the goal line and out of play for a goal kick.

The Panthers managed to keep the score close in the second half. And in the 55th minute, Fort Worth tied the match when forward Maddie Hamm sent a well-struck ball from outside the box into the Dallas goal.

But throughout the second half, FCD forward Michelle Young continually caused problems for Fort Worth.

The speedy Young made run after run by the Panthers defenders, but couldnt put the ball past goalkeeper Lauren Wysoski. In the 48th minute Young missed low to the far post by inches and in the 71st minute she shot a ball that was blocked by Wysoski.

It wasnt until the 87th minute, with the game tied 1-1, that Youngs efforts were rewarded.

Eamma threaded the ball between multiple Panthers defenders and found Young, who made one last gallop to the Fort Worth goal. Despite having a defender matching her stride for stride, Young released an arching shot high to the near post and scored the game-winning goal.

With the win, FCD closed its inaugural season with a record of 8-3 and leapfrogged Fort Worth to finish second behind division-winner Oklahoma City Alliance in the Big-Sky South. The game went back and forth for the most of the match, but by the time the final whistle blew Oklahoma had defeated Dallas 6-3.

Both teams had early chances, but the first goal didnt come until the 16th minute when Oklahoma sent the ball past Dallas goalkeeper Courtney Webb low to the near post.

Dallas responded quickly when midfielder Teresa Eamma scored off a free kick from 40 yards out in the 18th minute.

Dallas scored again shortly after. In the 24th minute, FCD forward Myka Demarco sent a shot a shot on frame. The Alliance goalkeeper made the initial catch, but bobbled the ball and let it dribble into the Oklahoma goal.

The Alliance stepped up their attack and netted its second goal in the 33rd minute.
